BrightStar Wisconsin Foundation announced last week that it has invested a total of $1 million in five startups, including three based in Madison.
Dairyvative Technologies, SHINE Medical Technologies and Fetch Rewards are the Madison companies receiving funding, while mPirik and Project Foundry are from Milwaukee.
“We were able to nicely match our inflows from donations this year to our investment outflows into early stage companies,” BrightStar Portfolio Manager Todd Sobotka said in a statement.
According to a release, BrightStar made more than $2 million in investments in 2014.
