Justin Vannieuwenhoven founded 3in1 Holders as a student at University of Wisconsin and earned immediate success, winning this year’s Burrill Competition. Vannieuwenhoven is now launching a Kickstarter campaign for his company’s CFS Holder.
The CFS Holder is a self-adjusting fishing rod that keeps bait at a designated height, even in choppy water. With the $10,000 he’s looking to raise by July 29, Vannieuwenhoven hopes to make the product look more professional and scale up more easily.
“I started the Kickstarter campaign because I can’t keep up with sales,” Vannieuwenhoven said. “By raising funding for the CFS Holder, I’ll be able to get a mold made for the plastic pieces, and that will cut my manufacturing time in half.”
Currently, Vannieuwenhoven has been making the rods entirely by hand. Pledges range from $1 to $35, and rewards include T-shirts or customized fishing rod holders.
