The Madison community is important to the success of Exact Sciences, CEO Kevin Conroy said at the annual shareholder meeting held today at the Edgewater Hotel.
“If you have a strong community, you have a strong Exact Sciences,” Conroy said.
That’s why nearly 1,000 employees spent an entire day in early June volunteering with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Second Harvest Food Bank, Conroy said.
The volunteer efforts were part of the culture of the company, according to Conroy, who touted Exact Science’s high employee engagement scores for companies with more than 1,000 employees.
“It’s a very exciting time for Exact Sciences,” Conroy said. “You are watching the future of Exact Sciences being built (as you drive on the Beltline). We are investing in the future in a significant way.”
When the new facility is completed in 2019, Exact Sciences will have the capacity to perform 5 million Cologuard tests each year, Conroy said.
Conroy also mentioned that COO Maneesh Arora will be leaving at the end of the year, but no additional details were provided.
