Phoenix, which designs and manufactures the world’s strongest neutron generators, is building a neutron imaging center in Fitchburg, Wis., the company announced recently.
According to a release, the 10,000-square foot building, scheduled to open mid-2019, will provide neutron activation analysis, radiation effects testing and neutron and standard x-ray imaging.
Phoenix also will build its new 50,000-square foot corporate headquarters on the same site, scheduled to open in 2020.
“Opening the Phoenix Neutron Imaging Center represents a major advance in making our neutron imaging technology broadly available to any industry,” Phoenix President Evan Sengbusch said in a statement. “By investing in a high performance, reliable and safe imaging services facility, we’re able to tap into new markets that, due to cost, were previously inaccessible.”
Phoenix will break ground in November.
Earlier this month, Phoenix announced it signed $15 million in contracts with two nuclear fuel manufacturers.
