The Wisconsin Technology Council announced recently that Venture Investors Director John Neis will be inducted into the Wisconsin Investor Hall of Fame Nov. 7, as part of the Wisconsin Early Stage Symposium at the Monona Terrace.
“Venture Investors is the state’s oldest venture capital fund and arguably its most successful, with investment ‘exits’ over time,” Wisconsin Technology Council President Tom Still said in a statement. “By focusing on campus-based discoveries in Madison and elsewhere in the Upper Midwest, Venture Investors has helped to turn ideas into companies, jobs and profitable investments.”
According to a release, Neis was elected by a panel of 12 judges, which included five past inductees, and he will be honored during a dinner of about 80 invited angel and venture capitalists.
Neis, a member of the Wisconsin Technology Council Board of Directors, also is president of the board for the Wisconsin Venture Capital Association and has advised the University of Wisconsin School of Business Weinert Applied Ventures in Entrepreneurship program.
