Murfie announced on Nov. 22 that it would cease operations, effective immediately.
An email to members read: “Unfortunately, Mufie has ceased operations. The senior debt holders of the company will determine the process by which you may retrieve any physical media that you may have stored at Murfie, and will be in contact regarding it. Thank you for your support over the years.”
Members have not yet been contacted. Murfie’s policy states, “Every CD and vinyl record you store at Murfie HQ is your property. We take that very seriously. In the event Murfie goes out of business, you will get back every CD and vinyl record you own in your current collection.”
Murfie’s website has been replaced with a splash page that says, “Murfie has ceased operations. We thank you for your support over the years. Its social media accounts have been deactivated, but the Murfie app is still functioning.
Murfie’s office was located in the Spark Building. The company was founded in 2011.
