FUJIFILM Corporation announced today that is has begun research at its Bio Science & Engineering Laboratories USA (U.S. Bio Center) in Madison.

According to a release, FUJIFILM’s goal of the center is to advance the field of translational research for biotherapeutics and strengthen research efforts in the areas of gene therapy, cell therapy and regenerative medicine applications.

Scientists at the U.S. Bio Center will conduct research using bio-informatics, cell engineering and manufacturing automation technology.

In addition to the Madison research center, FUJIFILM also will open a location in Boston, although no timeline was announced.
