Promega announced recently that its custom manufacturing is being recognized for supporting the rapid development of a Utah-based company’s new coronavirus test that received CE mark approval earlier this week.

According to a release, Co-Diagnostics’ Logix Smart COVID-19 Test detects SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes the disease formally known as COVID-19, and is now available in Europe.

Promega manufactured, QC tested, dispensed and packed the customized PCR assay reagents for Co-Diagnostics’ CoPrimer technology, which is used in the Logix Smart COVID-19 Test.

Promega and Co-Diagnostics had previously worked together on a test for the Zika virus.

CE marking is a certification mark that indicates conformity with health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products sold within the European Economic Area.
