Madison B-cycle‘s ArtBikes will make their yearly appearance beginning at 4 p.m. today at the Union South B-Cycle Station, the company announced.

The program features 18 B-Cycles custom-painted by the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County. Metcalfe’s Market will donate $1 to the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County for every ride taken on one of the ArtBike during the month of August.

“I’m happy we can provide extra visibility to such an important organization in our community,” Madison B-cycle Manager Claire Hurley said in a statement. “Last year we saw riders intentionally seeking out ArtBikes to make sure they had taken a ride on each one.”

In 2012, the 11 ArtBikes, which made up three percent of the fleet, accounted for 10 percent of the trips taken in August, according to a release.

The bikes will be in circulation August 1st through December 15th.
