So you have an idea, but how do you protect it?

The Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation’s Discovery Challenge Series will introduce University of Wisconsin students to intellectual property and the patent process in a free forum held from 4-5:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery Town Center.

According to WARF, students will learn about patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets, as well as how to disclose and protect ideas, in the first presentation, titled “Intellectual Property Basics for Students.”

Then in the subsequent presentation, “How to Conduct Effective Patent Searches,” IP attorney Craig Fieschko will walk though some search strategies.
