Filament Games, an educational game developer, along with FIRST, a robotics community with a suite of inclusive, team-based robotics programs, are collaborating with Roblox on a new virtual robotics game based on RoboCo that will broaden access to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning, the company announced today.
According to a release, the game will require users to build and control robots to engage in various competitive challenges.
“Across 16 years of developing learning games, few platforms have excited me as much as Roblox,” Filament Games CEO Dan White said in a statement. “It allows us to rapidly reach millions of users with impactful STEM experiences. It has all the necessary ingredients to become a key operator in the interactive education ecosystem.”
The game is still in pre-launch development. More details will be available in the coming months.
