Live Undiscovered Music (LUM), a social music discovery application that focused on emerging artists and gamified music streaming for fans and musicians, announced last week that it would shut down.
“As we’ve been thinking and planning for the future of music, it’s become clear to us that effort in the traditional music industry limits the impact we can make for you, our community and the wider music community as a whole,” the company posted on Instagram. “Due to this, we have made the bittersweet decision to shut down the existing platform.”
LUM was founded by Max Fergus in 2018 and raised $4.9 million in funding. The tech company also partnered with NE-YO and Compound Entertainment and won the 2018 Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce Pressure Chamber.
The tech company’s platform had grown to more than 200,000 creators.
