DANEnet, Pasture and Plenty, Dane County Humane Society Wildlife Center, Nehemiah Center for Urban Leadership Development, Presbyterian Student Center Foundation and Urban Triage were the Madison-area winners of Force for Positive Change awards, the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation and Marquette University announced recently.
According to a release, 13 total winners garnered $67,000 in prize money and were recognized for using social entrepreneurship as a model for solving social or environmental challenges in a way that is sustainable, just and generates impactful change in Wisconsin.
“We continue to be inspired by organizations from all sectors and all corners of Wisconsin that are engaging in helping their communities thrive,” WARF Director of Programming and co-chair of the Force for Positive Change Planning Committee Laura Heisler said in a statement. “Each year, we meet new organizations engaged in social impact and doing incredibly meaningful work.”
The winners were selected by an expert panel of judges from industry, academia and the social entrepreneurship sector from more than 65 initial applications.
