Isomark Receives $150K from WARF

Isomark, which is devoted to providing non-invasive breath-monitoring technology to detect bacteria and disease, announced Tuesday that it received a $150,000 investment from the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) to support a new breath analyzer device called “Canary.”

“We’re excited to continue to build investor support for Isomark and to continue work on the milestones that we believe will allow Canary to be safely and efficiently introduced to the market,” Joe Kremer, CEO of Isomark, said in a statement.

According to a release, WARF’s investment will help Isomark to gather more clinical data and determine the next steps for the breath analysis technology.

Canary is designed to provide early detection of potentially fatal infections by critically analyzing a patient’s breath to identify bacteria. The technology provides real-time results and can speed up the process of detection and treatment by as much as 48 hours. Isomark intends to initially target the intensive care units in hospitals due to the high risk of hospital-acquired infections.
