Wisconsin entrepreneurs, inventors and creative thinkers can now submit their products, services or organizations to be recognized in the second annual Wisconsin Innovation Awards, organizers announced today. Nominations will be open through May 15, and self-nominations are encouraged.

According to a release, the WIA highlights the development of groundbreaking and innovative ideas from all sectors or companies throughout Wisconsin. A committee consisting of members from business, startup, education, non-profit and public sectors sets the criteria for the awards, and a separate committee evaluates the nominees and chooses the finalists.

American Family Insurance and Baker Tilly Virchow Krause will return as presenting sponsors of the 2015 Award Ceremony, which will be held Aug. 18 at Discovery World in Milwaukee.
