Drifty, makers of the Ionic open source mobile SDK, announced today that it raised $2.6 million in its Series A round.
According to a release, Lightbank led the round, which included participation from Founder Collective and previous investor Arthur Ventures.
“Ionic is now one of the top 40 most popular open source projects in the world, with 500,000 apps built across startups and huge Fortune 50 enterprises building mission-critical apps,” Drifty CEO Max Lynch said in a statement. “Every month, the Ionic SDK is installed over 100,000 times, and those numbers are growing quickly.”
Ionic gives web developers tools and backend services to build mobile apps. The money will be used to hire new talent to help better the product, the company said.
