The Wisconsin Technology Council announced today that a panel of Midwest investors who represent new funds with a combined total of more than $200 million in assets will kick off the Wisconsin Early Stage Symposium, taking place Nov. 16-17 at the Monona Terrace.
“We’re excited to have these venture funds in Wisconsin to talk about what kind of deals they’re seeing in Wisconsin and the Midwest,” Wisconsin Technology Council President Tom Still said in a statement. “In recent years, we have seen significant regional and national investor interest in Wisconsin’s emerging companies. These funds are reflective of that trend.”
According to a release, the panel of investors is comprised of Brian Hopcroft and Ron Watson of Lewis & Clark Ventures, Ira Weiss of Hyde Park Ventures and Samara Mejia of MATH Ventures.
Each will contribute to the panel on Wednesday, which is themed “Invest in the Midwest: How regional funds view Wisconsin.” The discussion is slated to begin around 8:30 a.m.
