The Center for Technology Commercialization announced recently that it will offer a free course on business development skills for graduate students and early-career scientists.
According to a release, SBIR Ready teaches students how to evaluate an innovative technology idea from multiple angles to make a business case. Students also will learn about Lean Startup methodology, market research, planning and budgeting.
After completing the four, three-hour workshops, students can then apply for federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)/Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
Applications for the month-long spring cohort are due by Feb. 15, with classes taking place from 2-5 p.m. March 8, 15, 22 and 29 in Madison and Milwaukee.
