American Provenance, which produces minimal-ingredient personal care products that don’t contain harsh chemicals, preservatives, artificial ingredients or synthetic fragrances, closed a $500,000 seed round, the company announced recently.

According to a release, the round was led by Winnebago Seed Fund. The money will be used to add a second facility in August, which will help the Blue Mounds, Wis.-based company increase inventory and same-day shipping.

“It’s impressive how far American Provenance has come, off of such limited capital, which is a testament to the strength of the team and vision,” Winnebago Seed Fund Founder David Trotter said in a statement.

The company participated in gBETA earlier this year.
