The Global Freshwater Seed Accelerator has relaunched as the BREW and is now accepting applications for its second accelerator program for water tech startups, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) announced this week.
The deadline to apply is April 4, and the program begins in September. Up to six winners selected June 16 will receive office space in the Global Water Center in Milwaukee and access to investment capital funding sources, among other items.
“This accelerator program provides a great opportunity for emerging water-technology companies to take the next step in their development by utilizing the many services offered by The Water Council,” Reed Hall, secretary and CEO of WEDC, said in a statement. “WEDC is pleased to be part of this partnership once again and to be able to offer these companies this opportunity.”
According to a release, the BREW (Business. Research. Entrepreneurship. In Wisconsin.) was created to unleash unique water technology startups, expand Milwaukee’s Global Water Hub by accelerating results and inspire action to create further opportunity in the water industry.
Four freshwater tech startups participated in the first program, including Madison-based Microbe Detectives.
