The Bodgery will host the Make48 competition Aug. 12-14 as part of the 2021 Forward Festival, the organization announced recently.
According to a release, applications open May 13 for the 48-hour competition in which teams must create a prototype, promotional video and a sales sheet and present ideas to judges. Each team has access to a makerspace and numerous Tool Techs, who assist the teams with the provided fabrication tools to prototype ideas.
“Having just celebrated our 20 year anniversary in the 3D printing space, we are well aware that early access to these powerful technologies and, more importantly, the design thinking that empowers people to leverage them, has the potential to shape a better future for all of us,” Midwest Prototyping President Steve Grundahl said in a statement. “We are honored to sponsor the Make48 Madison challenge and are excited to see the inventions that will come from it.”
The winning team will advance to compete at the national competition and a chance to win $10,000.
