The Wisconsin State Assembly on Tuesday passed the CASE for Jobs bill, which would allow state businesses to raise money through crowdfunding.
“(On Tuesday) the Wisconsin State Assembly stated loud and clear that Wisconsin is going to lead the nation in access to small business capital,” Rep. David Craig (R-Town of Vernon), who introduced the bill, said in a statement. “Through the CASE for Jobs Act, Wisconsin businesses will finally be able to harness the power of the Internet to connect with Wisconsin investors in a responsible, open manner.”
According to Craig, the CASE (Crowdfunding And Securities Exemption) for Jobs Act exempts Wisconsin companies from the cumbersome and expensive securities registration process and allows for crowdfunding.
The bill, officially called AB-350, now moves to the Senate for consideration.
