A team of University of Wisconsin College of Engineering students was one of four selected out of 18 to give final presentations July 22 at the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition, the department recently announced.
According to a release, the group competed at the Space X headquarters in Hawthorne, Calif., and its pod passed the majority of the competition’s rigorous technical tests and the students impressed the judges with their work ethic and resourceful creativity.
The Badgerloop team was the only team out of the four not selected to send their pods down the mile-long vacuum-sealed hyperloop test track.
“We are so grateful for all the support we received this competition from all of our 59 sponsors and everyone at UW-Madison,” Badgerloop industry relations team lead Emma Krueger said in a statement.
WARR Hyperloop from the Technical University of Munich won the top prize.
