A team of University of Wisconsin College of Engineering students will unveil Badgerloop Pod III tonight from 7-9 p.m. at Varsity Hall in Union South, the department announced recently.

According to a release, the pod, which is driven by a mechanical wheel and features a lightweight carbon-fiber chassis, will be used when the team travels to compete in the third annual Hyperloop Competition in July. The teams will test their pods on the mile-long, vacuum-sealed Hyperloop test-track.

The Badgerloop team earned an innovation award in 2017 and placed third in 2016.
