100state will host an event called “The Chef’s Special: Food Showcase” from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, June 24.

According to the Facebook event, attendees at the free event will learn about food-related business, sample small plates from local vendors and listen to a panel of influential food experts.

The panel will discuss the Madison Public Market’s MarketReady Program, personal insights on navigating the Madison food scene and details on starting a food-related business. It will feature Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC) and South Central Project Director Andrea Hughes, Underground Food Collective Founder Jonny Hunter and Chocolaterian Cafe Owner Leanne Cordisco, among others.

All ages and backgrounds are welcome to attend the event, which is sponsored by the City of Madison.
