Madison continues to show its support for entrepreneurs, as organizers today announced the city is now home to a Bunker Labs, an accelerator program for veterans.
“We’re excited to be here in Wisconsin,” Bunker Labs CEO Todd Connor said. “I can’t think of a better place to put Bunker Labs than in Madison.”
Bunker Labs, which will be located at the MGE Innovation Center at University Research Park, is not just about helping veterans, it’s leveraging veterans as an asset, according to Connor. The program was founded in June 2014 and calls Chicago its headquarters.
Veterans participating in the 14-week program receive education, mentorship and introductions to investors. Bunker Labs’ companies have so far generated $5.8 million in revenue and created more than 130 jobs.
“Bunker Labs fills a void and need in Wisconsin,” Bunker Labs Wisconsin Executive Director Michael Ertmer said. “(We will) help veterans start and grow businesses here.”
