In “Back to the Future,” Doc Brown hit his head in the bathroom and came up with the idea for the flux capacitor. Although he also didn’t invent time travel, Frank LaRosa did come up with the name for his startup while showering: Noble Applications.
The iOS and Android development company prides itself on its experienced team and focus on professional development to provide the best developers–who also serve as project managers–possible for clients.
“We’re ‘A’ players,” Steve O’Brien, who joined as president shortly after LaRosa opened shop in October 2012, said. “With our customer-facing developers, we add value throughout the process.”
For example, Noble’s developers can consult clients on platform changes, server-side development and navigating App Store guidelines, O’Brien said. He went on to explain how all of Noble’s developers have 10 or more years of programming experience
LaRosa cut his teeth at companies such as StudyBlue, which was one of Noble Applications’ first clients. He was introduced to O’Brien through a friend-of-a-friend. The latter had always wanted to do his own thing, and the timing was right to join the team.
Noble Applications is targeting primarily startups, companies trying to mobilize their interactive platform and companies trying to mobilize their functional processes (e.g. CRM) while en route to reaching its seven-figure revenue goal this year.
“We are trying to grow the company without getting leveraged or taking on any debt,” O’Brien said. “We started operating in the black in January and have been able to continue” doing so.
