The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) awarded the Wisconsin Center for Technology Commercialization (CTC) a Tibbetts Award for achieving significant economic impact in advancing small technology businesses, the organization announced today.
According to a release, the Tibbetts Award is presented to those who exemplify the spirit and intent of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
“The Center for Technology Commercialization receives tremendous support from the State of Wisconsin through the U.S. System and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation,” UW Institute of Business & Entrepreneurship Executive Director Mark Lange said in a statement. “The Tibbetts Award is a terrific affirmation of that support while highlighting the amazing contributions of the CTC team and the flourishing innovation ecosystem in Wisconsin.”
Of note, the CTC team helped create programs like SBIR Advance and SBIR Ready.
