A Madison company has been accepted into WERCBench Labs Accelerator, the Midwest Energy Research Consortium (M-WERC) announced recently.
CyberPowered Home has developed a patent-pending smart breaker box solution that benefits both homeowners and utilities by automatically sensing, interpreting and acting on electrical use information.
The WERCBench Labs Accelerator, which began Tuesday and runs until March 5, focuses on advancing technology and business models for businesses in the energy, power and controls industry. Each of the seven participants will receive a $20,000 grant and an additional $20,000 in the form of an investment.
“WERCBench Labs has built a reputation as one of the region’s top accelerator programs for entrepreneurs to test their ideas and grow their businesses,” M-WERC Executive Director and CEO Alan Perlstein said in a statement. “This valuable program connects future companies with mentors to grow the region.”
Founded in 2017 by Will Blanchard and Allen Nikka, CyberPowered Home won the 2018 Discovery Competition at Washington University in St. Louis.
The other Wisconsin-based startups in the accelerator hail from Whitewater, Whitefish Bay and Waterford.
