Nationally ranked startup accelerator gener8tor announced today the five startups–including three from Madison–that will be a part of its 2016 Spring Program.
“This was our largest applicant pool ever, and (it) represents an acceptance rate of less than one percent,” gener8tor Co-Founder Troy Vosseller said in a statement.
According to a release, gener8tor received more than 500 applications.
23VIVI, an online marketplace for rare and limited edition fine art and digital fine art by profession artists; Allergy Amulet,a company that detects food allergens with a portable allergen detection device; and Exis, a company that allows developers to write secure, reusable and understandable code to communicate with services in the cloud, represent the three companies from Madison.
DATTUS is based in Indianapolis, while Behold.ai comes from New York.
During the 12-week program, which begins today, each startup will gain mentorship, expertise and capital. According to a release, each participating company is guaranteed $70,000 of additional follow-up investment from gener8tor. Wisconsin-based companies are also eligible for an additional $50,000 investment through gener8tor’s investment partner, BrightStar Wisconsin.
gener8tor also announced it recently raised $1.5 million to support its efforts in 2016.
