Gener8tor‘s event on May 22 featuring Eric Ries, author of The Lean Startup, has been canceled, the organization announced today.

According to Ries’ representatives, his appearance at Lindsay, Stone & Briggs’ upcoming annual Brandworks University is supposed to be exclusive to Madison, and thus why Ries couldn’t commit to another engagement.

“While the news is of course disappointing, I’m just happy that Eric had even accepted our offer to be a speaker in the first place,” Troy Vosseller, co-founder of gener8tor, said.
