To broaden its platform and attract more stream fishers, Fishidy today announced a joint collaboration with Indiana-based Nukru and its Ryple web service for bug hatch prediction.
“In seeking new markets to expand the Fishidy platform, we wanted to attract the stream fishermen into our ecosystem of social interaction, discovery and pro-active planning,” Fishidy CEO Brian Jensen said in a statement. “The Ryple service is the perfect fit because it provides massive value to the fly fisherman or stream angler looking to better plan his/her time (and location) on the water.”
According to a release, the Ryple system provides Fishidy members location-based hatch predictions for more than 8,000 U.S. and Alaskan Streams. The paid web service leverages the optimal intersection of water depth, local barometric pressure and tidal influence to determine what day/hour the U.S. stream contains the proper conditions for hatches to take place.
Existing paid subscribers to Fishidy already have access to the Ryple data, a release stated.
