Startup accelerator gener8tor was ranked No. 14 in the 2014 Seed Accelerator Rankings Project announced today at SXSW in Austin, Texas.
Despite launching just three years ago, gener8tor is listed among more established accelerators such as AngelPad (No. 1) and Techstars (No. 3).
“We had an internal goal to be a top-20 accelerator, and we’re happy to have accomplished that,” gener8tor Co-Founder Troy Vosseller said. “Our next goal is to break into the top 10.”
According to the project website, theĀ goal of the rankings, now in their fourth year, is to provide greater transparency regarding the relative performance of programs along multiple dimensions that may be of importance to entrepreneurs.
Since 2012, 28 graduates from gener8tor’s program have gone on to raise more than $40 million and create more than 300 jobs, the organization said.
“At gener8tor, we tell our entrepreneurs to be laser focused on their customers,” Vosseller said. “In our case, our customers are the entrepreneurs that we invest in. Focusing on the entrepreneurs is the secret to our success.”
Rice University Prof. Yael Hochberg, University of Richmond Professor Susan Cohen and MIT Ph.D. candidate Dan Fehder comprised the rankings team.
