Gener8tor, along with the University of Wisconsin Computer Sciences Department and the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF), are launching gALPHA+CS, a hybrid accelerator and “development-sprint” program, the company announced recently.
“The gALPHA program is a great way for technically inclined students to get experience with aspects of startups that they would not normally learn in an academic setting,” gALPHA Director Kiernan McGowan said in a statement. “Being able to build something and iterate on it through customer feedback is an essential skill for both creating a successful company and leading an engineering team.”
According to a release, the accelerator program will pull talent and industry experts from across campus, match them with computer science students, help them build products and help them start companies.
There will be two gALPHA+CS programs during the upcoming academic year, with the first running in October. Participants will have a week of ideation, two weeks of product iteration and a final presentation at the conclusion of the program.
