The newly opened Internet of Things Lab (IoT) is hosting an open house, held 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, organizers announced recently.
“We felt it was important to have a space for students to come together and explore projects that they are passionate about,” IoT Research Director Sandra Bradley said. “The open house is an opportunity for students to showcase their work from the past semester and to give attendees an opportunity to learn more.”
According to Bradley, IoT was created to give students an opportunity to come together and explore hands-on projects, while helping them become more marketable. The Lab also has a business component, providing companies the chance to find out what products are on the horizon and which have promise to bloom into something bigger.
Attendees will have an opportunity to try devices such as Oculus Rift, Google Glass, Arduino and Leap Motion. The event is free to the public.
