Madison-based Galactavision is participating in Emergent Labs‘ 12-week accelerator program for interactive gaming and media entrepreneurs, the Wisconsin Economic Develop Corporation announced this week.
Four other startups will take part in the program, which is located in Milwaukee. The WEDC awarded Emergent Labs $50,000 to give grants for the participants, all of whom will have access to experienced mentors and investment opportunities.
“Emergent Labs, with a focus on simulation, interactive media and gaming, will give startups the education and resources they need to develop high-growth businesses in a rapidly expanding sector of the information technology field,” Reed Hall, CEO and secretary of WEDC, said in a statement.
According to a release, Galactavision was founded by Madison Media Institute graduates. They are currently developing mobile virtual reality (VR) arcades that can house VR experiences for any type of social gathering or place of business.
The accelerator program culminates in a “Demo Day” event, though no date has been announced.
