The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has awarded Lucigen a patent for its pJAZZ BigEasy System, the company announced recently.
According to a release, the pJAZZ system offers the unique ability to stably reproduce large or challenging sequences of DNA. Gene therapy is a potential application.
“We are excited about the potential of this new technology,” Lucigen President Jeff Williams said in a statement. “Providing a tool allowing researchers to do something they could not do before opens the door to new discoveries and possible cures.”
The biotech company’s pJAZZ technology is available for licensing.
