Madison was ranked the top city for tech talent growth in the recent CBRE Scoring Tech Talent Report, the company announced recently.

CBRE took the past two years of employment growth–for Madison, it was 30.2 percent–and subtracted from it the growth from 2013-14–for Madison, it was 5.4 percent–to derive the rankings.

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., was second, and Salt Lake City was third.

“Healthcare software giant Epic Systems leads the way in tech growth,” CBRE-Madison Vice President Brian Wolff said in a statement. “Their success, coupled with the colleges and universities in our market, has spawned a cluster of spin-off companies, which (serve) the healthcare industry.”

The report also mentioned that Madison also ranks among the top 10 markets in the report for educational attainment.
