Madworks Coworking announced this week it has selected the companies to participate in its inaugural accelerator program known as Madworks Coworking at UW Campus.
“We were surprised and pleased with the number and quality of applicants,” Anne Smith, co-founder of the accelerator, said. “We are excited to work the group and seeing the impact lean startup principles can have on such a diverse group.”
Six seasoned entrepreneurs pared the nearly 70 applications down to the 11 selected startups, according to Smith.
“Our original intent was to take six companies, but the applicants were of such high quality that we took 11,” Co-Founder Eric Englund said.
900dpi and BlueTipz are among the companies.
As previously reported, the startups will work with Madworks staff and mentors for training and financing of up to $10,000. All of the accelerator companies will be introduced to potential investors at the end of the program.
