Madworks Coworking at University Research Park is looking to help startups in another way–through its own accelerator program, the organization announced recently.
Applications are due May 25 for the inaugural class of Madworks Coworking at UW Campus, which will run for 12 weeks starting June 9 at 1401 University Ave., in the space where D2P resides.
“We have seen through the Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic that legal advice is only a small portion of what entrepreneurs need,” Anne Smith, co-founder of the accelerator and co-director of the Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic, said. “We want to provide startups a holistic approach.”
According to its website, the program will offer entrepreneurs seeking commercial viability for their endeavor up to $10,000 in funding. There is no limitation on the market segment for the startups.
“We’re focusing on a littler earlier stage (in development),” Smith said. “We’re a nice stepping stone into (other accelerators like) gener8tor.”
Participants who complete the program will be introduced to potential investors.
