The Wisconsin Technology Council announced recently that it will honor Lorrie Keating Heinemann with the annual Excellence in Entrepreneurial Education award during the Wisconsin Early Stage Symposium taking place Nov. 9-11 online.
According to a release, the “Triple E” award highlights the importance of teaching and mentoring entrepreneurs.
Heinemann, the current president and CEO of Madison Development Corporation, has invested in companies such as Nordic Consulting, TomoTherapy, PerBlue and NeuWave Medical. The Thorp, Wis., native co-founded the Wisconsin Angel Network and also was a lecturer at the UW-Oshkosh School of Business.
“Lorrie Keating Heinemann is a rare combination of financial savvy, policy experience and a passion for working with young companies and entrepreneurs, who benefit immensely from her experience,” Tech Council President Tom Still said in a statement.
Anne Smith, co-founder of the University of Wisconsin Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic, won the award last year.
