Online CD marketplace Murfie announced today that customers may now use bitcoins to purchase music on its site.
“Murfie’s primary goal is to provide our customers with seamless access to and ownership of their music collections in any format and on any device,” Matt Younkle, co-founder and CEO of Murfie, said in a statement. “Empowering people to purchase, download and stream music … using their choice of payment method is another way for us to provide music enthusiasts with the best, most obtainable experience possible.”
According to Wikipedia, bitcoins are a digital currency unregulated by any central authority. Murfie members will be able to use bitcoins to buy Murfie credits, which in turn allows them to buy anything on the entire site.
