Murfie announced this week that it has outgrown its office on the Capitol Square and is moving to the former Full Compass building, located at 8001 Terrace Ave. in Middleton.
According to Co-Founder Matt Younkle, the move gets the entire team and inventory–currently more than 750,000 CDs–in the same space, with room to grow.
“Right now we’re spread across four separate suites in two buildings,” Younkle said. “We have plans to expand both team and inventory.”
The move is the second for the online music service. In 2013, the company relocated from its original location of 1 S. Pinckney St. to 7 N. Pinckney St.
“Our new facility has more space, and the layout of the space is much better for our current needs, so it should suit Murfie’s needs for the foreseeable future,” Younkle said.
Murfie announced that music will still be digitally accessible during the move, which is expected to last 1-2 weeks.
Meanwhile, Younkle is “optimistic” that Horizon Coworking will remain at its location in Murfie’s now-former office. Currently, the lease agreement is in the negotiation phase, Younkle said.
