Five startups were selected from more than 400 applications to participate in gener8tor’s 2015 Spring Program, the organization announced today.
“The Madison 2015 program brings our most diverse mix of companies ranging in geography from Wisconsin to Florida in industries ranging from healthcare to wine,” Troy Vosseller, co-founder of gener8tor, said in a statement. “We’re excited for these five great companies to join the Madison and gener8tor startup communities.”
GrocerKey, a company that helps grocery stores build an online store, and AltusMedical Group, a healthcare software-as-a-service company that focuses on achieving better patient outcomes through continual medical education, represent the two companies from Madison.
Passage (Detroit) is also from the Midwest, while Bright Cellars originates in Boston and Carson Life from Miami.
During the 12-week program, which begins today, each startup will gain mentorship, expertise and capital. According to a release, each participating company is guaranteed $70,000 of additional follow-up investment from gener8tor and its investment partner, Angels on the Water.
Companies creating jobs in Wisconsin are also eligible for an additional $50,000 investment through gener8tor’s partner, BrightStart Wisconsin. At the end of the program, the entrepreneurs will pitch their company to the community and potential investors in May.
