NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes has broken ground on a new facility that will house a planned contract development and manufacturing business unit called Radiopharmaceutical Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), the company announced recently.
According to a release, the CDMO will provide collaborator companies with a full range of customized radiopharmaceutical development and commercialization services and serve NorthStar in progressing its own radiopharmaceutical programs. Once complete, the company will be the first and only in the United States to house commercial-scale, multi-radioisotope production and radiopharmaceutical development services on the same campus.
“Establishing this new radiopharmaceutical CDMO services unit at NorthStar marks an important inflection point in our growth plan to facilitate efficient patient supply of game-changing radiopharmaceuticals,” NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes CEO Stephen Merrick said in a statement.
The facility is located alongside production facilities in the Beloit, Wis., campus.
