Promega surpassed its environmental improvement goals set for the end of 2020 and achieved reductions in key sustainability metrics, according to its newly released Corporate Responsibility Report, the company announced today.
According to a release, the annual report details the outcomes from the previous year in the areas of employee well-being, community support and environmental sustainability. Examples include a reduction in carbon emissions, water and natural gas usage and waste.
“Employees are really driving this effort,” Promega Corporate Responsibility Program Lead Corey Meek said in a statement. “Individuals across the company globally are recognizing ways to be more efficient in how we use energy and resources, ship our products and engage with customers.”
Promega also installed solar arrays, continued to grow programs that teach and support principles of emotional and social intelligence and launched a project to reduce the need for foam coolers without impacting product performance.
