Redox announced this week that it is offering developers and healthcare organizations the option to use Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource (FHIR) for data exchange over its network.
According to a release, the API, called R^FHIR, will expand the capabilities of the Redox platform for developers. It is now available to every healthcare organization currently powered by Redox, regardless of their EHR vendor’s support or implementation of FHIR.
“Redox uses input from its users to develop a uniform data structure that represents (a) healthcare developer’s real-world demands today,” Redox Co-Founder and CTO James Lloyd said in a statement. “As supporters of open standards, we’re excited to implement FHIR in an EHR-agnostic, interoperable way.”
FHIR is a standard for exchanging healthcare information electronically.
