Scott Resnick has been named executive director of StartingBlock Madison, an entrepreneurial hub that supports emerging companies, the organization announced today.
Among his first duties will be to help finish raising the $10 million needed to begin construction.
“My immediate goals including fundraising $1.5 million to complete our capital campaign, develop programming around health IT and diagnostics that benefit the region and raise community awareness of the Madison entrepreneurial scene,” Resnick, who also serves as COO of Hardin Design & Development, said. “I (also) will be developing a vision for the first year of operations … (that) will include early programming, lease arrangements and developing a solid culture within StartingBlock.”
Resnick is a founding member of Capital Entrepreneurs, the startup association that has more than 300 member companies. In addition, the former city alder served as part of the original planning group for StartingBlock.
StartingBlock Madison, to be located in the Capital East district of Downtown Madison, is set to take occupants at the end of 2016.
