Semba Biosciences announced recently that it received an equity investment from Tosoh Bioscience, which intends to acquire the company, though no additional details were provided.
According to a release, the two companies have been collaborating on various biomanufacturing projects since 2007.
“We are extremely pleased to team up with Tosoh Bioscience to offer customers the most danced platform for multicolumn continuous biochromatography,” Semba Biosciences President Dr. Robert Mierendorf said in a statement. “Our respective technologies fit perfectly together to provide an integrated solution for bioprocess research, development and continuous manufacturing.”
Tosoh Bioscience is a subsidiary of Tosoh Corporation in Japan.
