Six Madison companies were honored at the 2015 Wisconsin Innovation Awards, which took place Tuesday, Aug. 18 in Milwaukee. Winners were chosen by a panel of 18 industry experts from around the state and within 10 different categories.
Alfalight Inc. – Developed the NLOD-ES, a portable, battery-operated device that emits bright light that is used in military scenarios.
Exact Sciences – Makers of Cologuard, the first and only-FDA approved, noninvasive stool DNA screening test for colorectal cancer.
Ionic – An open-source platform that gives web developers tools and backend services to build mobile apps.
Red Card Media – Developed an app-based meal plan for student-athletes to use that is NCAA compliant. It also allows for the student-athletes to communicate with trainers on nutrition needs.
StudyBlue – Created an online mobile learning app that allows users from grade school to graduate school to create, study and share their notes. These are pulled from a library of user-generated content.
The Bubbler at Madison Public Library – A maker-focused program for all ages that offers hands-on workshops and events from community experts.
